eLearning for a flipped classroom
Description:
Take aways
The project to create four flipped classes on the Rise Articulate platform represents a significant step forward in my integration of technology at the service of education. Intended for two specialized courses, Analyse foncière and Aspects légaux liés au territoire, these flipped classes aim to make complex legal concepts more accessible and engaging for students. By following this format, learners explore techno-pedagogical content online at home, enabling them to arrive in class ready to participate in collaborative hands-on activities.
Initial collaboration and learning
The first two inverted classrooms were developed in close collaboration with a multimedia technician and a technopedagogical advisor. This partnership laid the foundations for converting potentially boring content into an interactive and stimulating experience. Working with professionals, I learned how to structure complex information in a visual and narrative way, and how to integrate interactive elements such as quizzes, explanatory videos and animations. The collaboration also gave me a better understanding of the fundamental principles of instructional design, essential for capturing learners' attention.
Challenges and solutions
Converting legal concepts such as primitive surveying, cadastre and municipal regulations into interactive content represented a major challenge. These notions, often perceived as dry, were transformed into dynamic modules using engaging scenarios and concrete examples. For example, students could view maps illustrating the impact of regulations on specific territories, or take integrated progressive quizzes to check their understanding.
Managing time and resources was also a challenge. Creating explanatory videos, choosing visuals and checking the accuracy of legal content required careful planning. However, Rise Articulate's intuitive features, such as interactive blocks and customization options, made the task much easier.
Pedagogical impact
The result has been the development of engaging online courses that enable students to grasp the concepts before putting them into practice in the classroom. This model favors an active pedagogy where students, already familiar with theoretical notions, devote class time to solving practical cases in a collaborative mode.
The transition to autonomy in the design of flipped classes for the Legal Aspects of Territory course marked a turning point in my professional development. This transition enabled me to apply the skills I'd acquired during initial collaborations while exploring new approaches. Creating these modules on Rise Articulate taught me how to structure complex content in an intuitive and attractive way, while respecting the pedagogical specificities of flipped classes. I discovered how to combine creativity and rigor to transform dry legal notions into engaging interactive experiences.
One of the main lessons learned from this project was my ability to adapt technological tools to meet pedagogical needs. By exploiting Rise Articulate features such as interactive blocks and progressive quizzes, I designed dynamic and accessible learning paths. This increased mastery of digital tools is an essential asset in an educational context increasingly focused on hybrid and technological approaches.
In addition, this project reinforced my understanding of the fundamentals of instructional design. The balance between theoretical presentation and practical interaction was important in maximizing learner engagement. These skills are directly transferable to other projects, positioning me as a techno-pedagogue capable of designing solutions adapted to learners' realities.
Finally, this experience illustrated the evolution towards a hybrid pedagogy, centered on student interaction and autonomy. It represents an important milestone in my career, demonstrating my ability to innovate in complex educational contexts.
In conclusion, this project has equipped me to take on similar challenges in the future, while consolidating my mission to offer stimulating and relevant learning experiences.
